Hello everyone and welcome to another edition of the Bonkers Cards Newsletter!
This is the final newsletter of 2023, and I wanted to take a moment to say thank you to every single one of you. Here's a short video summarizing this year:
This year the channel saw incredible content growth - we more than doubled the size of our TikTok audience, to currently over 11.5k followers. We created a Facebook group, launched a podcast, a YouTube channel, an Instagram Account, and this newsletter.
I travelled to shows in Chicago, Florida, Philadelphia, New York, Rhode Island, and to my local shows here in New Jersey dozens of times this year. I met some of you at these shows, and built great relationships with fellow card collectors and dealers from all over the country.
I got to work with one one of the top auction houses in the world this year with REA, and see some of the coolest vintage baseball memorabilia in history. I met authors, athletes, and creators.
We introduced Vintage Breaks to the Bonkers Cards Community, and broke 7 complete vintage sets, including 1950 Bowman, 1952 Topps, 1953 Topps, 1954 Topps, 1955 Topps, 1956 Topps, and the 1968 Topps Giants Set.
I hosted ~150 LIVE shows this year, and got to hang out with all of you each night talkin' vintage baseball cards and baseball history, and in doing so began to build a real community of fellow baseball fans.
The average viewership of my LIVE shows each night is roughly 5,000 people, Over the course of 150 shows, that's roughly 750,000 viewers on our LIVE shows this year. My videos this year on TikTok alone have exceeded more than 1 million views and counting.
By my estimates more than 3,000 vintage baseball cards found new homes in your collections this year between our LIVE shows and our breaks. The joy of adding a new card to a collection is something that only card people get, and the fact that I had a small part in bringing you that joy this year is very inspiring for what's to come in the year ahead.
With that said, I want to again say thank you to all of you from the bottom of my heart. I love this hobby and all that it brings, and I cannot wait for what is in store for next year and beyond.
